Wrath of the
Lich King Release
Date
Release date for Wrath of the Lich King
(wotlk) World of Warcraft Extension
By Nick
Matthews
Counting down the days now to the new extension, Wrath of
the Lich King. The beta release was fun but although its nice
to have a new pet and some achievements, I want to see (be) the
Death Knight and the hundred of new quests. I want to freeze in
the polar contnent of Northrend and I wish I had a polar bear
mount!
The Wrath of the Lich King expansion is
scheduled for release in Europe and USA on 13th November
2008
Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard
Entertainment said that "This expansion will add some of the
most infamous characters and settings from the Warcraft
universe to World of Warcraft," and also "In addition to new
story content, Wrath of the Lich King will introduce a number
of features specifically requested by players over the past
couple of years. "
The development of this second expansion pack to a nine
million subscriber-strong World of Warcraft fanbase will
include a level cap rise to Level 80.
Wrath of the Lich King will also include the first
Hero Class - the Death Knight - with a new
'Inscription' profession, new arenas, new battlegrounds, new
raids and siege warfare with destructible buildings.
There are apparently some awesome changes in the wind.
For example, although most of the shiny gifts that were
given to Rogues have been seen already, there is one that has
been kept well under wraps.
It's a level 75 skill: Tricks of the Trade.
The current party or raid member becomes the target of your
Tricks of the Trade.
The threat invoked by your next attack and each
action taken for 6 sec after it are transferred to the
target. As well as this, all damage caused by the target is
increased 15% during this time period. So basically, this is
a
souped-up misdirection for Rogues. The increase in
damage will be highly useful in PvP, where threat is
meaningless, and of course it won't hurt in PvE. Rogues can now
help cement aggro onto the tank whenever needed .
Also - Blood Elf Males - may actually sound
like a man (at least one you'd want to sound like!) If you’re a
Death Knight, you apparently have to go into the sound options
menu to turn this feature on for it to work. Check out this
link for a sound preview ...
